Well, Ruby's still in the shop, so decided on another diner excursion. This time chose yhte Frazer Diner, a 1930s O'Mahoney tucked in amid the uniculture along Route 30. Sadly, I arrived 15 minutes past their closing time of 2pm.
I did process a few more images from yesterday, including this booth shot from Bob's Diner in Roxborough...
Enjoy. As always, more will be added to my Flickr stream.
I'm liking these diner visits.
I have eaten at the Frazer (ex wife) and the Llanarch (decent snapper soup, crazy girlfriend - the mind is a strange thing).
I saw one site which said there is a diner in Philadelphia made out of an old PCC. I'm looking forward to that one.

Andrew - Yeh, I think the PCC shell serves as the ice cream parlor adjacent to the Trolley Car Diner. I have a photo somewhere. That diner has a great breakfast buffet.

Here's a link with some pictures (not as good as yours, of course).

I have eaten at several of these. I was sad to see the Ingleside in Thorndale was moved. I had the best mushroom soup of my life there (served takeout in a styrofoam cup). I have also eaten at the Daddypops, and the Downington Diner (Home of the Blob), but I didn't see that one here.
There also used to be a (real) diner somewhere between Paoli and Downington which had become a chinese restaurant. (not the one in Wayne). It held maybe 40 people, and the food was great. Then the bought a real storefront restaurant, and the quality of the food went way down.
You can skip the Media diner and the one at the corner of 320 and 3, both architecturally and food-wise.

Was almost gonna go out to Thorndale today...glad I didn't. Where was the Ingleside moved.

According to the link above, the Ingleside may have been moved to St. Louis, but they aren't sure.
Here's another link, for diners in Philly, with the rest of Southeast PA at the bottom.
