Why are the dead
given pillows?
Because giving them
pajamas
would be silly.
Yet my father
was buried just
that way:
In his bathrobe
and peejays.
He’d worn a suit
His whole life
and if he was
going
To be lying down
for that long
he said
He might as well
be comfortable.

Ya gotta hand it to him. Great way for a salesman to go out -- as his real human-being self, not his lifelong suited-and-tied "presentation."

Thx Bob. And that's the thing, he really wasn't a salesman... I mean he started that way, but it wasn't in him. He wanted to be a guru. lol.

Maybe it took awhile. Maybe there were detours along the way. But I think you inherited his guru-gene. You honor him by observing, reflecting, interpreting, sharing, teaching, and above all, loving. In your own, uniquely Charlie way, of course. Namaste, dude.

I have left instructions to be buried in white pajamas and covered with a white cotton comforter just like I have (and love) now. Why not? It's just a long sleep. Props to your pa.
